Our Beginning
Tomahawk Tool Service was founded in 1988 by the late
Jeffrey Thomas, who began the business as a small regrind operation in his home. While running a full-time tool distributorship during the day, Jeff spent his evenings in his barn manually regrinding tools—building the foundation of what would eventually become a respected family-owned manufacturing company.
Growth & Expansion
As demand for regrinding expertise grew, he moved the business into a small shop on Main Street in Montpelier, Ohio, where his distribution company, Kim Supply Co., was also operating. Both businesses continued to thrive, and by 1999 Jeff broke ground on a new facility located at 1604 Magda Drive, Montpelier, OH.
The original 5,000-square-foot building was completed the same year. Due to rapid growth, an additional 4,200 square feet was added in 2000. That same year, Jeff formally named the business Tomahawk Tool Service, reflecting its evolution into a full-service custom tool manufacturing and regrind company.

Today, Tomahawk Tool Service proudly remains a family-owned and operated company, staying true to the values Jeff instilled from the very beginning: precision, craftsmanship, and unwavering customer service.
We employ approximately 10 highly skilled team members who bring over 270 years of combined experience to the industry. Our team continues to support manufacturers across the region with reliable tool manufacturing, custom solutions, and expert regrinding services.
